Laboratory methods
Our focus is histopathological diagnosis of tumoral and non-tumoral diseases.
In our daily work we receive tissue, cell and Pap smear samples from public and private health institutions for histological, cytological and immunohistochemical diagnostics.
Our consultative activity supports pathologists and clinicians who refer to us challenging cases.
Main goal of our activity is fast and precise diagnostics.
The samples should be placed in closed containers with 10% neutral buffered formalin solution and associated with a corresponding referral sheet.
Our strength is in optimal tissue procession, fast and precise diagnostics.
Our laboratory is in contact with European and American laboratories for consultative opinion.
Weekly hours:
Monday – Friday: 08:00 - 20:00
Saturday: 09:00 - 14:00
Our professional experience is built in numerous trainings in prestigious medical institutions in Europe and America in the field of histopathology and molecular medicine.
The staff of Nucleus are the pioneers of development of Immunohistochemistry and Flow Cytometry in Kosovo.
In our lab, parallel to professional and diagnostic work, there are continuous research studies carried out by external PhD students.
Our lab offers training in techniques of histopathology, cytology and immunohistochemistry.
We employ different laboratory methods for concise results.
Our staff consists of 3 Pathology Specialists, 3 Laboratory Technicians and 2 Nurses.
Two of our medical staff hold a PhD in Pathology and are academic staff at the Medical School of the University of Pristina.
Two of our laboratory technicians are graduated in prominent Turkish Universities in the field of histopathology. As such, they are the only histopathology technicians in Kosovo and region.
Our Staff
NucleusApp is an application developed in Nucleus. By this app it is possible to easily access the histopathology report, referral sheet and video recording of gross examination of the submitted tissue sample.
NucleusPath Mobile provides the referring physician direct access to histopathology report in real time of its generation, providing for therapeutic planning in shortest possible time. The referring physician, through the cell phone also has access to video recording of the gross examination of the specimen that is submitted to our lab. This provides the clinician direct insight to the gross lab and is also a useful asset to clinical-pathological boards.
NucleusPath Desktop is an application dedicated for referring institutions which provides direct access to histopathology reports at the instant of their generation.
